For my 9th birthday I didn’t get a new push bike, instead I got told my mum had been diagnosed with breast cancer. When I graduated primary school I didn’t get a pretty dress like the others, instead my nan lost her battle with cervical cancer. When I graduated high school I didn’t get a new car courtesy of my parents, I got told my mum had breast cancer…again. And now I sit here exactly one week from my 19th birthday, my parents telling me we might be losing my only living grandparent. Tell your family how much you love them every chance you get because you never know what could happen tomorrow.
